Program Requirements
Recognizing the strengths of an interdisciplinary approach to health sciences, and the unique learning needs of its students, two fields of specialization will be offered to students in this master’s program:
- Molecular and Medical Science and
- Community, Public and Population Health.
The MSc is designed to be completed full-time, over six consecutive terms and will consist of two courses (1.0 credits for students in the MMS specialization) and three courses (1.5 credits) for those in the CPPH specialization. Students in both specializations will also complete a master’s thesis (1.0 credits).

Molecular and Medical Science
Year 1
- HE601: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Health Sciences (0.5 credit) – (Fall)
- HE602: Cell-to-Society Perspectives in Health Sciences (0.5 credit) - (Winter)
- HE699: Master’s Thesis (1.0 credit total) Must be registered for all three terms
Year 2
- HE699: Master’s Thesis (1.0 credit total) Must be registered for all three terms
Community, Public and Population Health
Year 1
- HE601: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Health Sciences (0.5 credit) – (Fall)
- HE602: Cell-to-Society Perspectives in Health Sciences (0.5 credit) - (Winter)
- Elective or HE650: Directed Study (0.5 credit) – (Fall or Winter)
- HE699: Master’s Thesis (1.0 credit total) Must be registered for all three terms
Year 2
- HE699: Master’s Thesis (1.0 credit total) Must be registered for all three terms
