Functional Knowledge

  • Gain quantitative, data analysis, and technical and reasoning skills, acquired through application of the scientific method.
  • Apply the principles of the scientific process - observation, hypothesis making, experimentation, data collection, analysis and interpretation, to formulate and test ideas using an objective and analytical focus.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the impacts of scientific discovery and technological innovation on society including economic, social, and ethical impacts.
  • Demonstrate fundamental laboratory skills and safe laboratory practices.
  • Communicate ideas effectively both verbally and in writing to the scientific community and non-scientific communities.
