Program Requirements

The Honours BSc Science program requires a total minimum of 13.5 science credits, which should include a minimum of 4.0 300- or 400-level science credits. The program also requires a minimum of 13.0 senior credits, including a minimum of 9.0 senior Science credits (refer to Note 1).

A minimum of 1.0 credit from courses outside the Faculty of Science is required.

Requirements By Year

Year 1

  • BI110 and BI111,
  • CH110 and CH111,
  • MA100 and MA101 (or MA102 and MA103),
  • One of: (PS101 and PS102), (PC141 and PC142 or PC131 and PC132), (CP104 and CP164) or (GG101 and GL102)
  • 1.0 elective credit

Year 2

  • One of: (PS101 and PS102), (PC141 and PC142 or PC131 and PC132), (CP104 and CP164) or (GG101 and GL102) not taken in Year 1
  • ST231
  • 2.5 senior Science credits
  • 1.0 elective credit

Year 3

  • 3.0 senior Science credits
  • 2.0 elective credits

Year 4

  • 3.0 senior Science credits
  • 2.0 elective credits

Program Notes

At least 9.0 senior credits from the following list of subject codes: AS, BI, CH, CP, GG (Physical geography only), HN, KP218, MA, PC or PS (PS courses must have a 6 as the middle digit e.g., PS26x), ST, WASC.

Progression and graduation in the Honours Science program will require an overall GPA of 5.00 and a GPA in Science courses (any course offered by the Faculty of Science) of 5.00.

A minor/option can only be completed from disciplines outside of the Faculty of Science.

This major cannot be combined with any other BSc program.
