    Calendar Description

    Survival distributions, life tables, life annuities, and life insurance. Calculation of premiums and reserves. Introduction to policy valuation.

    Prerequisites

    MA103 (or MA110*), MA170, ST259 or MA240 or a similar course in probability and statistics such as EC255 and EC285.

    Evaluation

    A final mark out of 100 will be calculated as follows:

    • Quizzes: 20%
    • Midterm Exam (Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, in class): 35%
    • Final Exam (exact date, time and location to be announced): 45%

    The final mark will be reported as a letter grade in accordance with the conversion table of the current undergraduate calendar.
