Financial Aid

Funding for your postsecondary education can be overwhelming, but it doesn't need to be.

The Financial Aid Office provides you with information about financial assistance opportunities to help you pursue your academic dreams, including the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP), provincial and territorial funding, U.S. funding, and funding for students with disabilities.

Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)

OSAP is a government-funded program that helps you pay for your postsecondary education through grants and loans. Learn more about full-time, part-time, co-op and exchange student funding.

1. Determine Your Eligibility.

Make sure your program is eligible for OSAP and that you are meeting course load and academic requirements.

2. Apply for OSAP.

Follow the process based on your student status (e.g. full-time, part-time) to apply for OSAP. Monitor your application status and make updates as necessary.

3. Plan for Repayment.

You do not have to repay your OSAP loans during your studies; however, make sure you have all the information you need to maintain your interest-free status and how to repay your loans after you complete your studies.

Funding for Students Outside of Ontario

Even if you are not a student from or a resident of Ontario, there are financial aid options available to help fund your education.

Provincial and Territorial Funding

You may be eligible for provincial or territorial funding based on the Canadian province or territory where you are a permanent resident.

U.S. Student Funding

Laurier is approved for the U.S. Direct Loan Program, which is an available financial aid option for students who are U.S. citizens.
