Government Loan Programs
Roughly half of all Laurier students are granted government loans through OSAP which provides interest-free loans to students who meet the financial need criteria. Assistance is based on the gross family income, the size of the family and student resources.
Bursary for Students with Disabilities and Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment
The Bursary for Students with Disabilities (BSWD) and Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment (CSG) is a program funded by both the federal and provincial government. The purpose of the BSWD/CSG is to help eligible students meet the disability-related costs of post-secondary education. The maximum amount of bursary assistance available is $10,000 per academic year, depending upon the applicant's situation. In order to be eligible for this bursary, students must have applied for OSAP and have identified as permanently disabled on their application. Student must also have a calculated financial need in either the full-time or part-time OSAP program. The bursary is non-repayable and taxable.
For further information, contact the Accessible Learning Centre and visit OSAP.
If you are experiencing financial difficulties and wish to work on a part-time basis, you may be eligible for assistance under the Laurier Work-Study Program. You must be registered full-time at Laurier and show financial need to be accepted in to this program.
