Our Food 4 Hawks network is a support group that delivers food support services to Laurier students.
Check out our list of food support services, and the programs and services they offer.
The Lending Library offers household items such as kitchen goods (plates, cutlery, pots and pans).
The service is free and we do not gather any information. Simply return your items at the end of term if they're no longer needed.

The Students' Union Food Bank is a year-round service that aims to help undergraduate students dealing with food insecurity.
You can request five parcels packed with non-perishable food items per academic term, accommodating all dietary restrictions. You can request hygienic and sexual health products as needed.
For Waterloo students, you can request emergency hot meals during the fall and winter terms (entry swipes to access the dining hall).

The Food4Kids Brant-Haldimand service are for students who are parents to school-aged children.
Every weekend, hundreds of children in Brant-Haldimand region endure weekends without food. Be a part of preventing child hunger in our community!
Food4Kids Brant-Haldimand prepares and delivers packages of nutritious food to children ages 4 to 14 who are experiencing food insecurity. Volunteers package and deliver food parcels to schools on Friday afternoons, placing them in the child's school bag to enable access to food without contributing to harmful stigma.

The Dean of Students Office offers emergency food support in the form of gift cards to students on an as-needed basis.
Connect with the Dean of Students Office. There are limits to multiple funding amounts that can be given. Generally, $50 to $100 giftcards are given.

The Food Pantry at the Brantford Student Wellness Centre offers non-perishable food items if you're in need of emergency food support.
If you attend the Student Wellness Centre and food insecurity is an issue for you, let the staff know. Gift cards may also be available from time to time.

Climate Just Laurier works with volunteers to grow fresh produce through the Food Justice Garden project. The produce is harvested and donated to Indigenous students experiencing food insecurity through a weekly food distribution program run by Martin Luther University College and LSPIRG.
The produce is distributed through the Weekly Distro at Luther in partnership with the Indigenous Student Centre.
Get your produce through the Weekly Distro but you can find the garden in circular planters in the Quad and along the side of the music building.

Funded by the Student Life Levy for the winter 2021 term, this program provided 30 students with a crockpot to keep + $50 grocery gift card to purchase ingredients for weekly cooking demonstrations. We hope to adapt this series (showcasing different kitchen tools) and continue it this year.
