Explain how North America is shaped by a minimum of two and as many as four core, interdisciplinary themes: Indigenous peoples, business and economy, culture and identity, and public policy.

Demonstrate an understanding of key theoretical perspectives (e.g. borderlands theory, imagined communities, critical race and nation theory, etc.) that particularly take the methods of enquiry in North American Studies in interdisciplinary directions.

Evaluate the benefits and shortcomings inherent in the methodologies of multidisciplinary perspectives (i.e. from elective courses taken for the major), and assess their value to the development of our understanding of North America.
