The honours Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Humanities with Leadership Foundations (HMLD) degree program combines courses from three traditional arts subjects — Philosophy, English and History — and courses from Leadership to create a multidisciplinary program designed to appeal to students who value both breadth of knowledge and its application in the contemporary world.
The program offers flexibility, and allows you to customize your education by choosing elective courses based on your interests. Vertical integration and program learning outcomes are ensured by an introductory seminar taken in your first year, and a capstone seminar taken at the end of your studies. In both seminars, you'll investigate an enduring question or contemporary problem from a multiplicity of disciplinary perspectives.
To add to your HMLD major, we offer experiential learning opportunities such as undergraduate research apprenticeships, community service-learning, and opportunities to study abroad. You can combine this program with a law degree (LLB) from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom. Our Bachelor of Laws (University of Sussex, UK) and Bachelor of Arts (Laurier) program can be completed in six years.
