Waterloo Meal Plans
Any student at Laurier can purchase a meal plan, however all students living in a residence (dormitory and apartment style) are required to participate in a mandatory meal plan.
Dormitory-style residence students can choose from a 5- or 7-day All Access Meal Plan. These plans provide unlimited access to the Fresh Food Company (FFCo), OneCard flex dollars to enjoy other on campus locations as well as guest passes for visitors.
Apartment-style residence students are assigned a flex dollar declining balance meal plan. OneCard flex dollars can be used to dine on campus at the Fresh Food Company, Terrace Food Court, Second Cup, Starbucks, Subway, Tim Hortons and Wilf's Restaurant.
Waterloo | Meal Plan Options
Dormitory-Style Residence Students*
5-Day All Access Meal Plan
$4,850 (includes $50 levy)
- $700 OneCard Flex Dollars ($350 per term).
- Monday to Friday unlimited access to the Fresh Food Company.
- 5 FFCo guest passes.
7-Day All Access Meal Plan
$5,250 (includes $50 levy)
- $500 OneCard Flex Dollars ($250 per term).
- Unlimited access to the Fresh Food Company, 7 days per week.
- 7 FFCo guest passes.
Apartment-Style Residence Students*
Apartment Meal Plan
$2,020 (plus $20 levy)
- $2,000 OneCard flex dollars ($1,000 per term) to enjoy on-campus food service locations.
Any student assigned to an apartment-style residence can upgrade their meal plan to an All Access Dormitory-Style Meal Plan by contacting the OneCard office after their residence room assignment has been confirmed.Residence meal plans are subject to HST exemptions as set out by Revenue Canada guidelines. Residence students on mandatory meal plans will not incur tax for on-campus food purchases.
By agreement between Wilfrid Laurier University and the Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union, all residence students will pay a levy on their meal plan. These funds will be used to assist with capital upgrades to the food services operations.
You can request to change your plan up until Sept. 30, by emailing email@example.com. After Sept. 30, the plans are locked in for the academic year. Dormitory and apartment meal plans are non-refundable and non-transferrable. If you have a remaining balance on your OneCard Flex dollar account (April 30) these funds will rollover to the next academic year.

Fresh Food Company
The Fresh Food Company provides flexibility to have a quick snack or a full meal to suit any schedule. It is led by a team of chefs and features an all-you-care-to-enjoy rotating menu with a focus on quality, convenience and ultimate flexibility. Fresh Food Company provides a variety of options such as stone-fired pizza, stirfry, salad bar, deli, grill, sushi and more. The Fresh Food Company is the ideal location on campus to accommodate special dietary needs such as allergies or food intolerances as a variety of alternative options are available.
OneCard Flex Dollars
OneCard flex dollars may not be used for any non-food purchases and are accepted at the following on-campus locations:
- Fresh Food Company (Dining Hall)
- Terrace Food Court (Union Market, Bento Sushi, Williams Fresh Café, Extreme Pita, Purblendz, Mr. Sub, Pizza Pizza, Smoke's Poutinerie and Harvey's)
- Second Cup
- Tim Hortons
- Wilf’s Restaurant and Bar
Waterloo | Convenience Account
The Convenience account is a separate account from the meal plan account. Convenience account dollars are accepted everywhere the OneCard is accepted. Convenience account dollars are also required for any non-food purchases on campus and all off-campus purchases.
All students can also add money to their convenience account (there are no tax savings in this account). This account can be used at any of the designated food locations mentioned above in addition to many off-campus vendors. Convenience account dollars can also be used for non-food purchases from Waterloo Taxi, International News, CCS Laser Printing, and The HUB Information and Copy Centre.

Can I really eat as much as I like?
Yes, if you dine at the Fresh Food Company as it features an all-you-care-to-enjoy weekly rotating menu. This location provides variety of options such as stone-fired pizza, stirfrys, salad bar, pasta, deli, grill, sushi and more.
What is the daily menu?
The Fresh Food Company dining program is designed to provide variety throughout the week with a rotating menu. Weekly menus are also posted at the entrance to the Fresh Food Company.
Can special dietary needs be accomodated?
Yes our Fresh Food Company is the ideal location on campus to accommodate dietary needs such as: allergies or food intolerances (soy, eggs, nuts, dairy, seafood and wheat), vegetarian, vegan, no gluten, halal and prescribed diets.
We offer menu items that meet most needs; however, if you require a specific specialty diet we can work together to create a menu to meet your needs. May I purchase extra OneCard flex dollars?
All meal plan holders may purchase additional flex dollars by visiting OneCard account online or the OneCard office, located in the lower Concourse. The OneCard office is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. OneCard flex dollars can only be used at on-campus food locations for food and beverage purchases.
I have a friend who is visiting; can I bring him/her to the Fresh Food Company for a meal?
Your friends and family are welcome at the Fresh Food Company. You have two payment options:
- Option 1: Guest meal passes.
- Option 2: Pay as you go.
May I take food back to my room for a snack?
You can take out one of the following snacks from the Fresh Food Company:
- One ice cream cone.
- One piece of fruit.
- One baked good.

Brantford Meal Plans
First-year students that live in residence must purchase a convenience plan. Convenience plans are $400 a term. You can keep adding money to your convenience account, and the balance carries over from year to year.
