International Student Welcome Breakfast

Tuesday, Sept. 2 8:30-10:30am | Location: The Turret

The buffet style breakfast will open at 8:30am in The Turret (located 3rd floor in the Fred Nichols Campus Centre). Enjoy breakfast and connect with your international student peers during the first week of class! The event will wrap up at 10:30am. This is a free event, but you must register.

Welcome to Campus and Drop-in Support

Tuesday, Sept. 2, 10am-2 p.m. | Location: Laurier International Offices - Arts Building 2A01. Come by Laurier International to meet our staff, have a snack and we will have student volunteers on hand to help you. Need a OneCard, to open a bank account or help finding something on campus? Our student volunteers will be here to help you out!

Campus Tour 

Tuesday, Sept. 2, 12-1 p.m. | Location: Laurier International Offices - Arts Building 2A01. Join some of our student volunteers on a tour of the Waterloo campus.

Drop-in Advising for Business and Economics Students

Tuesday, Sept. 2, 1-3 p.m. | Location: Laurier International Offices - Arts Building 2A01 -  Business or Economics students interested in adding a new course, or with questions about their  courses are welcome to drop by Laurier International to meet with an Advisor who can help you.

Welcome Event for Exchange Students! 

Tuesday, Sept. 2, 3-7 p.m. | Location: BA101 (Bricker Academic) - from 3-5pm, and then move to The Turret (3rd Floor, Fred Nichols Campus Centre) for dinner and further orientation.

Join us for a guest lecture, mini-workshop on adapting to life at Laurier, dinner, and a chance to connect with other exchange students studying at Laurier!

Thursday, Sept. 11, 5-7p.m. | Location: The Quad (outside of the Dining Hall) | All International students, exchange students, and their friends are invited to a BBQ dinner in the Quad!  Register Now!

Camp Kawartha Fall Camping Trip

October 3rd - 5th

Laurier exchange students are invited to join us for a fall camping trip to Camp Kawartha from October 3rd to 5th! Experience canoing, archery, rock climbing, hiking, a campfire and other activities in the great Canadian outdoors!

Brantford Campus Orientation

Remember that you're welcome to attend all Laurier Orientation events for first year students. You can explore the Brantford schedule here. Some activities may be less relevant to exchange students than others. To participate in Laurier's Undergraduate Orientation for September 2025, you must fill out this registration form and pick up your O-Kit at the Students' Union Office upon arrival to campus.

Mini Lecture with Dr. Kevin Spooner

Tuesday, Sep. 2, 4 p.m. - 5 p.m. | Location: Odeon Building - OD110

Join us for a Mini Lecture (virtually) with Dr. Kevin Spooner on the Waterloo Campus. This talk is a wide-ranging introduction to Canada, aimed at providing a sense of how Canadians see themselves. It’s a starting point for international and exchange students, as they begin their own journeys of understanding what Canada will mean to them.

Exchange Student Dinner at Hudson's Public

Tuesday, Sep. 2, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. | Location: Hudson's Public | 93 Dalhousie Street, Brantford

Enjoy connecting with local students and socializing over pub fare and a soft drink. This is a free event.
