Off-Campus Initiatives

About the Centre for Off-Campus Initiatives

If you're a student living off campus, it doesn’t mean that you have to miss out on all the great events and action on campus. The Centre for Off-Campus Initiatives advocates for the off-campus student while being mindful of your unique experience at Laurier.

The Centre for Off-Campus Initiatives addresses the needs of all Laurier’s off-campus students through intentionally designed programs, workshops, support services and volunteer positions.

Welcome Days for Incoming Students Living Off-Campus

Connect with other incoming students who are living off-campus during our LOCUS Welcome Days on Sept. 1 in Waterloo and Brantford.

Join us for a day of fun activities, get to know the Laurier campus and make connections with other students.

Programs and Services

The centre  focuses on three areas of support: first-year off-campus support, mature and transfer student support, and off-campus living and community relations.

LOCUS

The Laurier Off-Campus University Students (LOCUS) program at our Waterloo and Brantford campuses work specifically to support our first-year, off-campus community with events, mentors and opportunities to get involved.

Mature and Transfer Student Services

If you are returning to school as a mature student or transferring to Laurier from another school, the centre is here to help support your transition and to connect you to other mature and transfer students.

Off-Campus Housing

Off-Campus Housing is a new program that helps you be an active, engaged and contributing member to the cities of Brantford and Waterloo. The program educates you on responsibilities you may have while living off campus, such as searching for housing, understanding by-laws, being a good neighbour, managing bills, and more.
