Academics are increasingly being asked to use professional writing techniques to write public policy, engage government audiences, and make their research more accessible to the public. This workshop will introduce graduate students to the differences between academic and professional writing by examining what makes an effective policy brief. We will discuss how to write impactful executive summaries and examine strategies to engage in professional writing, both inside and outside of academia. A Zoom link will be sent to registrants prior to the workshop.
