EdTech assists faculty, students and staff in the use of technology for teaching and learning. The department supports a number of enterprise technologies, but also explores new technologies to examine their potential for use in teaching.
Student support for MyLearningSpace (MyLS) can be found within the MyLS system under the “Need Help” link, including an orientation video and help module that provides instruction on individual tools in the system. Requests for support may also be sent to us directly at MyLS@wlu.ca.
Laurier's chosen classroom response system to support large-class participation is iClicker. iClickers must be registered via MyLearningSpace once per year to connect your class participation with your student record. Find help for iClicker at clickers@wlu.ca.
Turnitin.com is a plagiarism detection service that faculty, on a voluntary basis, may wish to use in their courses. This service can also be used to enable online grading and peer-graded assignments. Find help for Turnitin at edtech@wlu.ca.
Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within MyLearningSpace. Lockdown browser prevents printing, copying, going to other URLs or accessing other applications. When an assessment is started, users are locked into the browser until they submit it for grading.
Respondus Monitor is AI-driven remote proctoring software that records students and their environment via webcam while they complete assessments in MyLearningSpace.

Final course evaluations are conducted online each term. Each course will be assigned a one-week window during which the evaluation can be completed, and class time will be provided to complete the evaluation. Find help for online evaluations from courseevals@wlu.ca.
