Accommodations Consultants

Accommodation consultants are responsible for ensuring the provision of academic accommodations for students with documented disabilities. This includes:

  • Providing assessment and individualized planning.
  • Acting as a liaison with faculty, staff and students in an effort to support the implementation of accommodations.
  • Reviewing and evaluating plans to determine effectiveness of the accommodations and facilitates any needed changes.
  • Collaborateing with on- and off-campus supports for seamless response to support student needs.
  • Identifying new supports and mechanisms that elevates a student driven model.

They work in collaboration with other services and staff within the Accessible Learning Centre to ensure timely access to identified supports.

I have been working in private practice as an Affiliate Therapist for over three years and having been working in Accessibility Services for over two years. I have obtained my Masters of Divinity in Clinical Counselling, MDiv at Tyndale University and an undergraduate Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology (BSc) at the University of Toronto. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

I started this position on October 10, 2017. Prior to this position, I worked as a psychologist in India. After coming to Canada, I worked as a learning skills advisor at Conestoga College and as a learning strategist counsellor at UOIT. I hold a Master of Social work (MSW) from Laurier and earned an MA (Psychology) in India.

I am a proud, two-time Laurier alumna completing both an undergraduate degree (HBA, Anthropology and Sociology) and a graduate degree (Master of Social Work) at Laurier. I have been an accommodation consultant with Accessible Learning since 2012.
