The winter term is winding down, but there is plenty of time to connect with the many academic supports and resources available to you as a Laurier student. Whether your studies have stayed on track or veered off course, Student Success is available to help you finish the term strong.
The following is a selection of academic supports and resources available to students at Laurier’s Brantford and Waterloo campuses. Study Skills Support
Upgrade your study skills and learning strategies to help you prepare for your final exams. Connect with study skills support through one-on-one appointments with a learning consultants, attend a workshop, or check out these printable resources and videos.

Chatting with a learning consultant – or a Peer Academic Coach if you’re in your first year – is a great way to make sure you’re on the right track and ready to write your in-person exams. Topics of conversation may include:
- Creating a comprehensive study schedule to keep you on track and taking breaks;
- Studying effectively to make the most of your study time;
- The difference between in-person and online exams;
- What you should be doing the weeks, days, night, and hours before your final exam to prepare;
- Managing test-anxiety;
- And anything else you want to chat about!

Supplemental Instruction (SI) Sessions – Waterloo-Specific
SI Final Exam Review sessions enhance your studying and are your opportunity to ask any outstanding questions about course material. Please note: times and dates are subject to change and students should refer to the News Item and Zoom Meetings pages within the SI MyLearningSpace page to confirm dates and times. Exam review sessions do not count for bonus marks.
Writing Support
Help your ideas take shape and communicate them clearly with writing supports designed for you. Our regular schedule of one-on-one writing appointments and workshops are running all the way until exams. Writing appointments fill quickly; book sooner than later to avoid disappointment.
Writing Essay Exams
Got an in-class written final coming up? This workshop will discuss the importance of outlining, anticipating essay questions, and managing writing in time-constrained situations. We will also explore study strategies to prepare for timed writing assignments.- TBD

Math and Statistics Support
From formulas and statistics to computer coding and algebra, the Mathematics and Statistics Support team can support your number needs.
Supports and resources include:
- Drop-in support: Connect with a senior undergraduate student for one-on-one peer assistance. Multiple in-person and virtual options available for students at the Brantford and Waterloo campuses.
- One-on-one consultations: Chat one-on-one with professional support staff.
- Course-specific assistance: Through directed homework sessions (100-level courses) and problem sessions (200-level courses), you can make sure you’re keeping up with course material and understanding the concepts that are taught.
Mock Exams
Get a golden start on your finals by taking mock exams and attending review sessions, available for the following 100-level math courses.
