    Study Skills Support

    Upgrade your study skills, create a time management schedule and enhance your learning strategies to help you prepare for your final exams. Connect with study skills support through one-on-one appointments with a learning consultant, attend a workshop, or check out these resources.

    Learning Consultant Appointments: Exam Preparation

    Book with a learning consultant is a great way to ensure you’re on the right track and ready to write your exams. Topics of conversation may include:

    • Creating a comprehensive study schedule to keep you on track and taking breaks;
    • Studying effectively to make the most of your study time;
    • The difference between in-person and online exams;
    • What you should be doing the weeks, days, night, and hours before your final exam to prepare; 
    • Managing test-anxiety;
    • And anything else you want to chat about!

    Academic Skills (ASk) Workshop: Preparing for Finals

    Looking to ace your finals? Join us for an interactive ASk workshop to help you understand what to expect and how to prepare for finals. Missed the workshop? Book with a Learning Consultant 

    Writing Support  

    Help your ideas take shape and communicate them clearly with writing supports designed for you. Book a one-on-one writing appointment with a writing tutor (undergraduate) or graduate student writing tutor. Writing appointments fill quickly; check the Student Success Portal for avaliablities. 

    Visit the Student Success Portal to register for a workshop or book an appointment with a writing consultant. 

    Math and Course Support  

    From formulas and statistics to computer coding and algebra, the Math and Course Support team can support your number needs.  

    Supports and resources include: 

    • Drop-in support: Connect with a senior undergraduate student for one-on-one peer assistance. Multiple in-person and virtual options available for students at the Brantford and Waterloo campuses will continue to be offered throughout the exam period.
    • One-on-one consultations: Chat one-on-one with professional support staff. 
    • Course-specific assistance: Through weekly directed homework sessions (100-level courses), you can make sure you’re keeping up with course material and understanding the concepts that are taught. 

    Mock Exams 

    Get a golden start on your finals by taking mock exams and attending review sessions, available for many 100-level math courses.  

    Additional Course Support 

    Drop-in support, facilitated by senior undergraduate students, offered for first-year chemistry, organic chemistry, applied health studies, 100-level coding courses in computer science, accounting, and economics.

    Supplemental Instruction (SI) Sessions – Waterloo-Specific

    SI sessions enhance your studying and are your opportunity to ask any outstanding questions about course material. Please note: times and dates are subject to change and students should refer to the News Item within the SI MyLearningSpace page to confirm dates and times of final sessions for the term.
