How to get your new OneCard

If you have not done so already, the time is now to exchange your old OneCard for the new OneCard Smart Card, introduced this fall. The exchange applies to full- and part-time upper year (including second year) students.

The University is in the very final stages of transitioning from old OneCard technology to smart card technology. This transition requires that every student obtain the new OneCard smartcard.

The new OneCard now incorporates HID/MiFare dual chip technology in addition to the current mag strip and library bar code. These cards have been customized for Laurier to meet the new technical requirements for the new C-Cure door access system well as being compatible with emerging technology for other tap systems including the new access technology offered by Grand River Transit to accommodate the student UPass. Future implementation of ‘tap’ payment will be seamless with the new card.

OneCard Exchange Details

There is no cost for this exchange.

Your old card will be deactivated and will no longer work for door access, Athletic Complex, GRT, Library etc. so it is imperative that you pick up your new card as soon as possible.

A $30 replacement fee will be applied for lost cards moving forward. Pro tip: Do not deface or hole punch the card as it could disable the functionality.
