Twelfth annual Laurier Loop road race returns to Waterloo campus March 23
Get ready to run for a good cause this weekend, Golden Hawks.
The 12th annual Laurier Loop road race takes Saturday, March 23 at 11 a.m. and features a 2.5 km loop around Laurier’s Waterloo campus. Runners of all levels are welcome to participate by running one, two or four loops. Teams of four runners can compete in the relay race.
The race is organized by Wilfrid Laurier University students in the Kinesiology course KP344 in partnership with community running organization Run Waterloo.
All funds raised from the race will support the Sun Life Financial Centre for Physically Active Communities (CPAC), an outreach program that aims to improve the activity levels and overall health of local youth with free or low-cost programming. An initiative of Laurier’s Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, CPAC connects undergraduate and graduate students to community organizations to promote physical activity and healthy living to Waterloo Region youth.
The Laurier Loop is open to Laurier students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members. All registrants receive a race T-shirt, snacks and refreshments. Prizes will be awarded to top runners.
Faculty, staff and students can register online and use the code HEALTHYHAWK to receive a $5 discount on registration fees.
Race day registration and kit pick-up starts at 8 a.m. in the Science Building atrium. Additional details are available from the Laurier Loop website, Facebook and Instagram accounts.
