President Deb MacLatchy shares her best wishes for the end of term
Dear students,
As we wrap up the fall term and approach the beginning of 2021, I would like to take a moment to recognize your significant achievements. There is no doubt this has been a difficult time. However, you have risen to these challenges with determination and spirit, and are on your way to successfully completing the academic term. Congratulations!
It is an exceptional feat to continue to study and learn in the midst of a global pandemic. Moving to this virtual environment has required resiliency and adaptability – two skills that will serve you well throughout your lives and careers. You should be proud of everything you have accomplished this semester. I am proud of all of you.
As you complete your courses, finish assignments, and take exams over the next two weeks, feel confident in the steps you have taken throughout the term to prepare. Study hard, but remember to take breaks, step outside for fresh air, call family to stay connected, and contact family, friends, and university supports to assist with your health and wellness as needed.
I know that the holidays will look different this year. I urge you to find new ways to connect and celebrate that keeps you, your family and friends healthy. It is my hope that in this quieter holiday season we can all find peace and an appreciation for the simpler things. Take some time to recharge and reflect on your accomplishments this term.
My very best wishes to you for a successful end to the fall term and a new year filled with hope and possibility.
Sincerely,
Deb MacLatchy
