Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Indigeneity Info Session
Laurier will be holding the rescheduled Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI) and Indigeneity virtual information session on Sept. 16, 2020. Holding this engagement event at the beginning of fall term will allow us to accommodate as many faculty and students in this important conversation as possible. Timing and login information will be shared closer to the date.
Thank you to the members of the Laurier community who showed an interest in attending the original information session and submitted questions.
We received thoughtful questions about the EDI and Indigeneity Action Plan, Laurier’s work on Indigeneity, and much more. These questions will inform our discussions and planning as well as the content of the information session, and there will also be the chance to ask questions during the event.
Between now and the fall information session, we will continue to make progress on the initiatives outlined in the EDI and Indigeneity Action Plan. We will also continue to communicate with the university community and provide opportunities for input and engagement, for example through an informal roundtable discussion in August with various leaders who have responsibility for EDI and Indigeneity strategy in their portfolios.
In the meantime, if you would like an opportunity to connect, contact Barrington Walker, AVP: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, at avpedi@wlu.ca.
