Marta Marin-Domine Receives the Ciutat de Barcelona Award
Congratulations to Dr. Marta Marín-Dòmine, pictured here with Ada Colau, major of Barcelone. Dr. Marín-Dòmine received the prestigious Ciutat de Barcelona Award for Essays, Social Sciences and Humanities for her book Figur era al més bell teníem (Flight was the most Precious Thing We had). Dr. Marín-Dòmine's 2019 publication uses a biographical account as an exercise in collective memory about exile, being uprooted and the city of Barcelona. It thus combines literary creation with theoretical reflections on trauma and memory and speaks to Dr. Marín-Dòmine's established position as a specialist in the study of Spanish Testimonial Literatures.
Ciutat de Barcelona Awards honour the creation, research and production conducted by people or groups working in Barcelona and institutions from Barcelona. The award ceremony took place on February 11 at 6 p.m. in Saló de Cent in the Barcelona City Council.
More information about the award and its recipients can be found on the site of City of Barcelona and Cultura.
