MA307A: Numerical Analysis (Fall 2017)

Calendar Description

Numerical solution of equations and systems of equations; numerical integration; methods of interpolation, extrapolation and curve-fitting, error analysis. Methods will be illustrated by exercises requiring the use of a computer.

Students may only use the approved scientific calculator, Casio FX-300MS Plus, on lab assignments, the midterm test and the final examination. No other calculator is allowed. It is available for purchase at the campus bookstore.

A final mark out of 100 will be calculated as follows:

  • Clickers: 10%
  • Laboratories: 20%
  • Midterm Exam (Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. - 9:50 a.m. in BA110): 30%
  • Final Examination (exact date and time to be announced): 40%

The final mark will be reported as a letter grade in accordance with the conversion table of the current undergraduate calendar.
