Registration Dates

Incoming First-year Students

If you are an incoming first-year student, registration opens for you on June 15 at 10 a.m. For the best course selection, you should register by June 22 as that is when registration opens for returning students.

Returning Students

If you are a returning student, course registration dates and times are based on the number of credits you have taken at Laurier, rather than by your year of study (first year, second year, etc.) Transfer credits are also factored into the total credit count. Your personalized course registration open date and time is available on LORIS.

2020/21 Fall and Winter Registration Start Times

  • Incoming first -year students: June 15 at 10 a.m
  • Graduate students: May 15 at 10 a.m
  • Faculty of Education students: June 1 at 10 a.m
  • Returning students: June 22 to June 26 (assigned time ticket below)

Returning students are assigned a time ticket when they may begin registration on a particular day and time to maximize the chance that you will get the courses you need to complete your degree. Degree students are assigned start times by the total number of credits completed, or credits in progress. These dates and times are outlined in the charts below.

A financial hold will be applied to all student accounts with outstanding balances on June 5, 2019. If a hold is placed on your account, you will not be able to register in courses, or make changes to your registration through LORIS until the hold is cleared. Financial holds are cleared when the account balance is paid in full by debit, or electronic banking. For full information on payment deadlines and methods see Paying Your Tuition.

Registration Start Times for Returning Undergraduate Students

For fall/winter course enrolment purposes, your registration date will be determined based on the number of credits you have completed and are in progress up to August 2020. You may register any time between your registration open date and the last day to add courses in the applicable term. Be sure to register for at least one course by July 15 to avoid a late registration fee.
