A bursary is a monetary gift based on demonstrated financial need and satisfactory academic achievement. Bursaries do not have to be paid back to the university. Students may only receive one bursary assessment per academic year, to an established maximum amount.
Laurier tuition bursary assistance for international undergraduate and graduate students are only available during the fall and winter terms; due to extremely limited funding, no bursary assistance is available during the spring or summer terms. Note that the amount of financial assistance available through these bursaries is very small in relation to the total cost of full-time attendance at university.
The total amount of available bursary funds are divided equally between all eligible applicants. International students must have adequate resources to finance their education apart from any assistance provided by the university. Basic living and education costs are to be met by the student or their sponsor.
