Lease It or Lose It returns for Fall 2023
Lease It or Lose It returns this semester from November 6th - November 10th on both the Waterloo and Brantford campuses.
Lease It or Lose It is a week-long series of events and workshops, taking place once per academic semester in November and February. This series provides you with key skills and resources to help you find off-campus housing.
The workshops will cover topics such as budgeting, finding roommates, roles and responsibilities of landlords and tenants, and online search engines to find available properties and more. Check out the tabs below for the Fall 2023 schedule.

Home Sweet Home
Missing your hometown a little more as the semester goes on? Check out Home Sweet Home happening on both the Waterloo & Brantford campuses to receive some homemade snacks and household items to help you will living off-campus.

House Hunting
Looking for an overview on how to look for off-campus housing and learn everything you need to know? Our House Hunting workshop covers topics such as budgeting, platforms to find housing, avoiding rental scams, relationships with roommates and more. It's a great place to start if you are not sure how to begin looking for off-campus housing.

Come visit the Living Off-Campus Fair to interact with resources on and off-campus to help enhance your experience when living off-campus. Guests will include the city of Waterloo & Brantford BIA, Sustainability, Laurier's Dollars & Sense program and more.

Roommate Match-Up
Interested in living off-campus next year but not sure who to live with? Looking to meet people who are also starting their living off-campus search? Tune into the roommate match-up to do some icebreakers, ask questions, and get to know other people who are planning to live off-campus next year. Brantford & Waterloo students welcome, register here.

Communication, Conflict, & Me
Join us to discuss our experiences with conflict. Over an hour and a half, we will explore how conflict shows up in our lives, how we recognize it, and how to ground ourselves through discussion and activities.

Staying Well During the House Hunt & Beyond
Searching for housing can take a toll on mental and overall well-being. Join Claire Howarth, Wellness Education Coordinator, as we explore strategies to stay well during your search for housing, and beyond. We will discuss and share practical strategies for coping and managing stress, and also developing and maintaining healthy relationships with roommates. This workshop counts as an elective in the Wellness Education Certificate.

Think Before You Sign
Never seen an Ontario Standard Lease before? Join us while we walk through every section of an Ontario Standard Lease to ensure students know what to look out for and double check before officially signing a contract for a rental unit.

Squash the Beef
Living with roommates next year (or right now)? Often times when students live together, innocent roommate conflict can arise whether it has to with household chores, different living routines, or simply spending too much time together. Roommate conflict is inevitable, however by learning how to navigate these relationships, it can make conflict seem lighter, and easier to mend. Come visit us to get some free Butternut Squash soup and learn about roommate conflict!
