TravelWise Private Laurier Student Carpool Tool

Laurier is a proud organizational member of the Region of Waterloo's TravelWise program. As such, all Laurier students are able to access the private Laurier Student Carpool Network. Carpooling is one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to reduce your carbon footprint - and TravelWise makes this even easier! Using the online TravelWise Carpool tool, you can search for a carpool partner who's daily commute matches your own, and then connect with them online to see if it's a good fit before you decide to carpool. You can also log commuting trips to see their environmental impact and cost savings, and win prizes through regular competitions and challenges.

Student Carpool Facebook Network

Students from all Laurier campuses can join the private Facebook group Travel Buddies to search for other Laurier students travelling between campuses or popular destinations (e.g. Toronto). This is a private group for Laurier students only and is moderated by its creator, Laurier alumnus Jimmy Liao. Request to join this group to start your journey, create new experiences, and meet new travelling companions!

Community Carshare

There's no more need to own a car! Laurier has a CarShare vehicle located directly on campus (near Alumni Field), which uses an 24-hour online registration system. There are also a number of vehicles located nearby campus as well. Learn about rates and locations at VRTUCAR.

Cycling and Bike Storage

In partnership with Parking and Transportation Resources, we are pleased to offer a number of resources for cycling commuters on campus. There are a number of bike racks located around campus (Laurier's size makes it easy for you to check up on your bike). As a safety precaution, make sure you lock it with a high-grade U-Lock or equal alternative. Note: Bikes that are left unattended for a significant amount of time will be removed and recycled by Laurier's Special Constable Service.

Community Access Bikeshare

Laurier's Sustainability Office, in partnership with Community Access Bikeshare (CAB), unveiled the first on-campus bike sharing station in the region in 2015. The initiative hopes to provide affordable access to bicycles as alternative transportation for students.

Make sure you know the rules of the road and how to keep safe while cycling. bikewr.com is a great resource to get you on your way!
