Diversity and Equity

The Diversity and Equity Office, affectionately known as the DEO, works to cultivate a culture on campus that respects and promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice in all aspects of Laurier – from classrooms to residence communities. The office provides support to all students, staff and faculty on all campuses.

Financial Assistance/Fees

Contact Gendered and Sexual Violence Prevention and Support for information and resources that can assist you, whether you are supporting a survivor, wondering what to do about a student who has caused harm, seeking resources related to a personal experience, or are looking to better understand gendered and sexual violence and your roles and responsibilities.

Student Union/Associations

The Wilfrid Laurier University Students’ Union provides a variety of student support services for academics and housing concerns. Confidential in-person consultation offers guidance for student navigating the academic appeal process, assistance with institutional advocacy, and suggested options for dealing in with landlord/tenant disputes.

The Graduate Students' Association (GSA), offers individualized advocacy for master's and PhD students who are experiencing difficulty navigating services, process and policies. The GSA also work with student collectives who are experiencing systemic barrier to their graduate student success. The GSA strives to be an accessible safe environment for graduate students to share concerns and receive support.

If you have concerns regarding residence life, consult the Department of Residence.

Safety and Security

If you require safety assistance or wish to report a crime, please call the Special Constables:

  • Waterloo campus: ​519.885.3333, or internally at x3333​
  • Brantford campus: 519.756.8228 x5888, or internally at x5888.

All payphones on campus allow for a free call to the Special Constables office. You may use an emergency pole located throughout campus if you require immediate emergency assistance.

If you require assistance regarding physical, emotional and mental health services, contact the Student Wellness Centre.
