Co-op student standing in front of Laurier Toronto

Meet Laurier Toronto's Newest Co-op Student: Noa Salamon

Current role? What are some of the project you're working on?

I'm the Logistics & Marketing Coordinator for the Toronto Office. On top of being in charge of booking guests into the space, I have been assigned several exciting projects. Some of which include:

Toronto LIFT Series – The Toronto Office will be displaying a rotation of select pieces from the LIFT series program at the Waterloo campus Library. This exhibit will be open for the general public for the entire year.

Canadian Blood Services Campaign - Working alongside the University Relations department to figure out new and exciting ways we can entice people to use Laurier’s code when they donate blood.

Nuit Blanche Installation: NDD Clinic - Creating an event marketing schedule to ensure that as many people as possible come to Laurier Toronto for our amazing installation.

This your first co-op position, how do you feel about the co-op program thus far?

The staff in the co-op department have been so helpful! Whether they were helping me with my resume or coaching me through the interview process, it always seemed as though they were happy and ready to help. This has been a great opportunity for someone who is looking for a career in a competitive field.

What stands out to you the most about your experience as a Laurier student thus far?

The Communications program has exposed me to so many different areas of Marketing that I didn’t even know existed! It’s been awesome to study at Laurier because I feel like I’m being challenged each day in class. On the social side of things, I was really worried about going to a school with a massive campus, it would have been very overwhelming for me. The campus at Laurier has made me feel very comfortable and right at home!

Where are we most likely to find you having lunch?

I have friends who also work downtown, some of them are even on co-op, we usually meet at the food court in First Canadian Place. If I had to recommend something to try when people visit the Toronto office, it would be iQ Food Co!
