CR grade option for up to 0.5 credit (total) for spring/intersession/summer session 2020 terms only

    Jan. 8, 2021
In late December, the Senate Executive and Finance committee approved the availability of a CR grade option for up to 0.5 credit (total) for spring/intersession/summer session 2020 terms only, subject to a petition to the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

    Please note:

    • You may only petition for a CR grade in one 0.5 credit Laurier course (i.e., not courses taken as part of a joint program, under OVGS, or in Laurier courses which are graded on something other than a letter grade/grade point).
    • You may not petition for a CR grade in a course for which you have a recorded academic misconduct or failed grade.

Remember, for graduate students, a passing grade is a B+, B, or B- depending on your program. Consult your Graduate Program Coordinator, the Graduate Calendar or email fgps@wlu.ca if you are not sure which cutoff applies to you. You are encouraged to discuss the idea with your graduate program coordinator or advisor. In particular, you may want to think about how future employers, admissions committees or scholarships committees will view a CR on your transcript.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the CR grade option and your academic record, please contact the Graduate Program Coordinator of your program.

If you wish to petition for a CR grade, you must complete the form by no later than 11:59 pm on January 15, 2021. Be sure to provide your @mylaurier e-mail address. The form may be submitted only once.
