The Office of Dispute Resolution and Sexual Violence has changed its name

The Office of Dispute Resolution and Sexual Violence has changed its name to the Office of Human Rights and Conflict Management.

    Why the Change?

Working with departments at the university, we’ve changed the name of the office to better reflect:

    • The work nature and scope of work we do.
    • How we support Laurier’s faculty, staff and students.

    How We’ll Support You

    We’ll continue to:

    • Address issues related to discrimination or harassment under university policy and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
    • Administer complaint processes related to gendered and sexual violence.
    • Coordinate supports and services for students affected by sexual violence.

    Supporting Our Community

The Office of Human Rights and Conflict Management provides assistance to members of the university community by:

    • Providing resolution of unresolved complaints related fairness and the application of university policies.
    • Confidential support and coaching for those seeking assistance in addressing interpersonal and group conflicts.
The office will continue to work closely with student groups and other university offices addressing human rights-related issues and the implementation of Laurier’s restorative justice community of practice.
