Update regarding incident close to Waterloo campus: Feb. 21
Update: Feb. 21, 5 p.m.
This morning Wilfrid Laurier University was made aware of a stabbing incident that took place close to the Waterloo Campus. One male victim was transported to an out-of-region hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
As a safety precaution, all buildings on the Waterloo campus were put on controlled access and this will continue for the remainder of the day. Tomorrow morning controlled access and door operations will return to normal.
The incident is still being investigated by Waterloo Regional Police Service and no new details are available at this time.
We encourage you to report any suspicious activity to Special Constables.

Wilfrid Laurier University was recently made aware of a stabbing incident that took place close to the Waterloo Campus.
All buildings on the Waterloo Campus are on controlled access. Please use your One Card to access buildings.
Police are at the Waterloo campus for the investigation but the stabbing incident is believed to have happened off campus.
Special Constables are working closely with Waterloo Regional Police Service to investigate this incident and taking necessary steps to ensure the safety of our campus and surrounding community. This remains an ongoing investigation. Expect to see an increased police presence in the area.
