Print | PDF
With Laurier’s numerous campuses and virtual learning, severe weather campus closure(s) may or may not impact your studies, as closure decisions are made on a campus basis and virtual learning remains unchanged.
Check out this summary of what may happen if your campus closes due to severe weather.
Classes
- In-person classes on ONLY the closed campus(es) are cancelled.
- Instructors may choose to hold a virtual session at the regularly scheduled time, reschedule their class, provide virtual asynchronous learning material, and/or revise their course plans – this will be communicated by the instructor.
- Virtual synchronous classes continue as scheduled.
Assessments (Tests, Quizzes, Midterms, Final Exams)
- In-person assessments on ONLY the closed campus(es) are cancelled.
- In-person common assessments (i.e., when the same test is being held on multiple campuses at the same time) impacted by at least one campus closure are cancelled at all campus(es) on which they are scheduled.
- In-person quizzes, tests, and midterms will be rescheduled by the instructor.
- In-person final exams will be rescheduled by the Registrar.
- Virtual assessments continue as scheduled.
Assignments
- Due dates for assignments to be submitted virtually remain unchanged.
- In-person submissions will be due at the next regularly scheduled class or as directed by the instructor.
In the event of a campus closure, be sure to monitor your Laurier student email regularly for updates from your instructors.
