GG101 (Introduction to Physical Geography) examines natural features and processes, including weather and climate, hydrology, and geomorphology. Drawing on examples from Ontario, across Canada and the world, this course is designed to provide an introduction to the physical environment. Lectures explore the characteristics and functions of physical phenomena and identify processes of environment change through time and space. In the labs, you engage the physical world using scientific data, interactive mapping applications and geographic techniques, gaining skills in the use of programs such as Google Earth, Toporama, GISS Surface Temperature Analyzer, Climate Atlas of Canada, and Ontario’s Stream Flow Assessment and Land Use Tool.
