The sub-discipline of human geography focuses on human behaviour over space and how it affects and is impacted by the natural and built environment, including processes such as immigration, agriculture, travel, tourism, industrialization, urban growth, culture, and more! This course will give you an overview of the many different approaches geographers use to describe and explain human activities and spatial processes. In lectures, you will acquire the basis for understanding human geography, while in your lab sessions you will practice the skills necessary for doing human geography. Weekly labs will take you directly into the field to study real world phenomena right in your own backyard. The remote course offering is designed to be completed from wherever you are and does not require any on-campus fieldwork. This course will expose you to innovative tools such as Google Earth and StoryMaps to explore course concepts.
