One Earth, One Health ES274 [online]

    June 24, 2021
Inspired by the global COVID-19 pandemic, this course introduces students to current issues in health and the environment. Through One Health and Eco-Health lenses, students will learn how to critically analyze the nexus of people, animal, and environment factors that result in interconnected health risks. Students will begin to develop the analytical skills necessary to identify, recommend and communicate solutions that achieve better health outcomes for all. Interdisciplinary case studies will be used to help students develop the skills and strategies central to the One Health and Eco Health approaches to address a range of health and environmental challenges, including; environmental toxicology, air, water, and soil quality, climate change, food safety and security, communicable diseases including zoonosis, mental and physical health, Indigenous reconciliation, and social justice.

Who can register? All senior students can register.

When can I register? Check in LORIS, when the course opens for registration, you can register immediately! Registration will be capped, so register as soon as it becomes available.

I need more information, who do I contact? You can contact the Undergraduate Advisor for Environmental Studies, Dr. Miguel Sioui [msioui@wlu.ca]
