MA103A, B and C: Calculus I (Fall 2020)
Calendar Description
Limits and continuity; differential and integral calculus of functions of a single variable; the Mean Value Theorem; determination of extrema; the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus and techniques of integration; introduction to series.
Prerequisites
MA102, or a minimum score of 75% on the Calculus Preparation Evaluation (CPE); and Grade 12 Calculus or MA100 or MA129.
Exclusions
MA101, MA110*.

J. Stewart: Calculus (Early Transcendentals), 8th Edition, Brooks/Cole and a course pack of notes (available at the bookstore).
Calculators
Students may only use the approved calculator, Casio FX-300MS Plus on course tests and the final examination. It is available for purchase at the campus bookstore. No other calculator is allowed.

Evaluation
A final mark out of 100 will be calculated as follows:
- Weekly Online WeBWorK Homework: 10%
- Remote Lab Assignments: 20%
- Midterm Exam (Sat. Nov. 7th, 2020, 11:30am - 12:55pm.): 25%
- Final Exam (2.5 hours, exact date, time and location to be announced): 45%
To be eligible to pass this course, a student must score at least 40% on the Final Examination.
The final mark will be reported as a letter grade in accordance with the conversion table of the current undergraduate calendar.
