MA201: Multivariable Calculus (Fall 2020)
Calendar Description
Vector functions; differential and integral calculus of functions of several variables, including vector fields; line and surface integrals including Green's Theorem, Stokes' Theorem and the Divergence Theorem.
Prerequisites
MA122, and one of MA101, MA103. MA104 is recommended.

MA200.

9th Edition (Other editions also work.)
Access to a digital version of the 9th edition of Multivariable Calculus by
James Stewart will begin at the start of term.
Calculators
Students may only use the approved calculator, Casio FX-300MS Plus required in labs, on the midterm test and the final examination. It is available for purchase at the campus bookstore. No other calculator is allowed.

Evaluation
A final mark out of 100 will be calculated as follows:
- Online Homework through WeBWorK: 20%
- Laboratories: 20%
- Midterm Exam (Friday, October 23 during the lecture time (8:30-9:20am – Waterloo time) .): 20%
- Final Exam (2.5 hours; exact date, time and location to be announced): 40%
In order to pass the course it is necessary to score at least 40% on the final exam.The final mark will be reported as a letter grade in accordance with the conversion table of the current undergraduate calendar.
