Review of algebra and trigonometry. Differential calculus of the algebraic, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions of a single variable; introduction to integral calculus; techniques of integration. Introduction to ordinary differential equations. Polar coordinates. Complex numbers. Applications to problems in the natural sciences are emphasized.
MA100 or permission of the department.
Prior credit for, or current enrolment in, any of: MA103, MA110*. This course may not count in mathematics programs.

Calculus for Medicine and Biology, 4th Edition, Claudia Neuhauser, Pearson.
Students may only use the approved scientific calculator, Casio FX-300MS Plus, on course tests and the final examination. No other calculator is allowed. It is available for purchase at the campus bookstore.
