The Hawk Shop
The Hawk Shop (formerly the Laurier Bookstore and Stedman Community Bookstore) is proud to provide the Laurier community with the things needed for life on campus and beyond. We are your official store for textbooks and course materials, clothing and accessories, classroom and school supplies, giftware, technology and more.
Find Us
- Waterloo: The Hawk Shop is located inside the Dr. Alvin Woods Building in the main concourse.
- Brantford: The Hawk Shop is located inside the Research & Academic Building, West Wing on the Brantford campus.
Textbooks and Course Materials
Textbooks and course materials are available exclusively online and are not be available in store.
General merchandise including clothing, gifts, supplies and tech items will still be available at the Hawk Shop (formerly the bookstore). Visit the Hawk Shop's website for up-to-date store hours.
How to Get Your Books
- Visit textbook search.
- To view books for your courses, select your course using the course selector tool.
- Order your books online and ship to your address or select the convenient in-store pick up option.

Let us do the work for you! Our new "compare" tool integrates with your custom booklist to provide a book-by-book pricing comparison with Amazon in real time. You can save valuable time searching for the best price for your course materials and make your buying decision directly from our website.
Digital Textbook Access
Through Digital Textbook Access, you will receive the required learning materials for your course in a digital, rather than print, format on the first day of class at a significant cost savings.
Rent Your Textbooks
When you rent a textbook, you pay a portion of the book's price, use it for your course, and return it at the end of the term. Although not all textbooks are available to rent, there is a large selection that can save you up to 40% of the full price.

Job Opportunities
The Hawk Shop is looking for students who want to work in a fast-paced, educational environment. Every fall we hire students to work in various departments within the store like text, clothing and gifts, the TechShop and web order fulfilment.

Laurier strives to offer you choice when purchasing your course materials. We offer new, used and rental textbooks, as well as access codes. We also offer online ordering via our website – just go to hawkshop.wlu.ca. You have the convenience of having your orders ship directly to you, or you can pick them up in person - just choose pick up as your delivery method when checking out your cart.
