Selecting Your Preferred Sequence
BBA candidates: We will ask you to complete a work sequence request form before your admissions interview. We will ask you to check the one statement that best reflects your preference:
If we offer you admission to co-op, we will assign you to a sequence. You may not switch sequences once we offer you admission. (Exception: If you participate in the early recruiting process for CPA firms, you may apply to jobs that begin in May and September.)
Sequence One: If we assigned you to Sequence One in 2022, you will begin your first work term in May 2023.
(If we assign you to Sequence One in 2023, you will begin your first work term in May 2024.)
Sequence Two: If we assigned you to Sequence Two in 2022, you will begin your first work term in September 2023.
(If we assign you to Sequence Two in 2023, you will begin your first work term in September 2024.)
We will likely assign more than half the BBA students we admit to Sequence Two. If you are willing to accept either sequence, you may have a better chance of receiving an offer of admission than students who are willing to accept only one particular sequence.
It is important to note, however, that Sequence Two does not work for all students. Please read the next section carefully before selecting a sequence as your preference.
If any of the statements below apply to you, we advise you not to say that you will accept Sequence Two. Instead, we urge you to say that you will accept admission only if assigned to Sequence One if you can say "yes" to any of the following statements:
If you receive OSAP funding, please investigate whether the sequence you choose could have an impact on your eligibility for funding. The provincial government has regulations restricting the number of academic terms for which students may secure OSAP funding.
Once we assign you to a sequence, you may not change it later. (Exception: If you participate in the early recruiting process for CPA firms, you may apply to jobs for work terms that begin in May and September.)
BBA students in Sequence One apply to jobs that begin in May and last four or eight months.
