    Print | PDF

Moving out this spring and don’t want to let your unwanted items go to waste? Participate in Laurier’s Move-Out Program!

Organized by the Sustainability Office, Student Experience, Dean of Students Office, Off-Campus Initiatives, Facilities and Asset Management, and the Department of Residence, this program is designed to make it easy for you to donate gently used and non-perishable items, reduce waste, and give back to the Laurier community. All acceptable donations go right back to Laurier’s Freestores!

Whether you’re on the Waterloo or Brantford campus, take advantage of the convenient drop-off locations (information below) and make your move-out more sustainable!

    What You Can Donate

    • Working small appliances: Mini-fridges, microwaves, toasters, vacuums, etc.
    • Kitchenware: Plates, cups, utensils, etc.
    • Textiles: Gently-used clothing, linens, blankets, towels, etc.
    • School supplies: Writing utensils, lined paper notebooks, calculators, etc.
    • Room decor: Alarm clocks, lamps, picture frames, rugs, etc.
    • Storage items: Reusable containers, small shelves, baskets etc.
    • Electronics: Chargers, TVs, headphones, etc.
    • Non-perishable food: Unopened, not expired
    • New/unopened toiletries and cleaning supplies

     What Won’t Be Accepted

    • Large furniture
    • Opened food
    • Used toiletries (including toilet brushes and plungers)

Note: Any items not suitable for Laurier’s Freestores will be donated to local charities or disposed of sustainably.
