MA238A: Discrete Mathematics (Fall 2017)

Calendar Description

Basic graph theory, Euler circuits and Hamilton cycles in graphs, planar graphs, graph colouring, trees, relations, partial orders, introduction to counting, recurrence relations, inclusion-exclusion.

Prerequisites

MA121 and an additional 0.5 MA credit.

Evaluation

A final mark out of 100 will be calculated as follows:

  • Quizzes: 16%
  • Midterm Test (Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2:30 p.m. - 3:50 p.m.; Theatre Auditorium): 30%
  • Final Exam (2.5 hours, exact date, time and location to be announced): 54%

The final mark will be reported as a letter grade in accordance with the conversion table of the current undergraduate calendar.
