    Ontario-Ukraine Solidarity Scholarship

    In response to the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, on April 6, 2022, the province announced a $1.9 million Ontario-Ukraine Solidarity Scholarship to support students attending Ontario’s publicly-assisted colleges and universities.

    A $10,000 scholarship will be awarded to individual students through Laurier based on merit and financial need.

    The scholarship will prioritize students impacted by the conflict in Ukraine, followed by students impacted by other conflicts. 

    The application will be available from December 4, 2024, till March 3, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
    If you do not see the application on LORIS, email studentawards@wlu.ca. Requests to open the application must be received no later than the day before the deadline.

    Criteria

    To be considered for the Ontario-Ukraine Solidarity Scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

    •  pursuing full-time or part-time studies during the academic year;
    • demonstrate financial need;
    • must demonstrate merit that may include qualities such as academic achievement; community service, or perseverance of dedication to their education;
    • impacted by the Ukrainian conflict or by other conflicts.

    How To Apply

    1. Log in to LORIS.
    2. Click the “Student Awards and Financial Aid” tab.
    3. Click the “Student Awards Applications” link to access the student profile(s).

    After you start your application, you can review and make changes to your submissions up until the deadline. View your submissions by selecting the "View my Applications" tab. Make sure the application shows as "submitted."

    Once the deadline has passed, your profile will show the status of "EXPIRED."
