Complete Your Application

It is your responsibility to ensure the application is completed and submitted by the application deadline.

Apply Through Journey

All exchange applications are submitted through Journey, our new online system for travellers.

You will find all required and supplementary forms in Journey.

Allow yourself approximately one hour to complete the application after you have all your documents prepared, though it may take longer.

You can save your progress and come back later to complete your application.

Your Application Checklist

When you are ready to complete the application, ensure you have the following completed. For full details on the items below, see the Required Documents and Information page.

  • Contact information (first name, last name and email address) for your references.
    • To ensure your references have enough time to submit their documents, we recommend you fill out this information at least four weeks before the application deadline.
    • Save your progress and come back to your application if you need more time to gather the rest of the required information and documents.
  • Departmental Approval Form, saved as a Word or PDF document.
  • Answers for your Letter of Motivation.
  • A photocopy of the photo page of your passport, saved as a PDF or jpg.
  • The GPA Waiver Form, if required, saved as a Word or PDF document.
  • The Language Assessment form, if required, saved as a Word or PDF document.
  • A credit card to pay the $30 application fee.
  • Budget information.

Pay the Application Fee

There is a $30 application fee to apply for exchange, which is payable by credit card. The application fee cannot be added to your student account or paid in any other way.

The application fee is non-refundable. You will not receive a refund:

  • If you withdraw your application.
  • If you are not accepted to study abroad.
  • If you are offered an exchange placement and choose to decline.
  • For COVID-19 reasons.

Late Applications

It is your responsibility to ensure your complete application is submitted by the application deadline.

Any missing documents or information will mean your application is incomplete and it will be considered incomplete until we receive all outstanding material. Incomplete applications that are still incomplete after the deadline will be considered late.

Late applications are processed in batches. There is no guarantee that spaces will be left at your selected institutions as available spaces may be filled by on-time applications.

We will do our best to offer you an exchange placement at an institution with available spaces, whether it’s one you included on your application or not. You will have the opportunity to accept or reject your placement.
