Learn more about international opportunities at Laurier
Broaden your horizons and discover how you can study, work and travel abroad as a Laurier student and after graduation. We've got two great events where you can learn more about different programs and opportunities, connect with students to hear about their experiences and chat with staff to get your questions answered.
International Opportunities Fair
Discover how you can study abroad for a term or full academic year through the student exchange program. As an exchange student, you will experience new cultures and environments, buid your intercultural knowledge and make lasting friendships while studying abroad at one of 70 partner institutions around the world.
- Wednesday, Oct. 27
- 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Drop in over Zoom (no need to register)
During the fair, you can connect virtually with Laurier students who have studied abroad as well as students from our partner institutions who are currently studying at Laurier. These students are excited to share more about their exchange experiences and the different institutions where you can study.
There will be two presentations offered during the fair:
- 11:45 a.m.: An overview presentation of Global Engagement programming and opportunities (10 minutes).
- 12:15 p.m.: A presentation from a Laurier exchange program alumni on their experience at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands (10 minutes).
International Experience Canada Information Session
Learn how you can work and travel abroad through the International Experience Canada (IEC) program. A representative will be sharing more information on how you can participate, the different countries where you can work and travel, the steps to apply and more.
- Thursday, Oct. 28
- 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
- Hosted on Zoom
- Registration requried
IEC allows you to gain new skills, learn new languages, experience different cultures and explore new places. Working abroad can also help you fund your international travels.
International Experience Canada is a Government of Canada travel and work program for those aged 18 to 35. The program's agreements with various foreign countries and territories make it easier for you to get work permits with these partners.
This event is presented in collaboration with the Career Centre.
