Testing desktop notifications for the Alert Notification System on April 30
Special Constable Service (SCS) is excited to announce the latest addition to Laurier’s enhanced alert notification system: desktop notifications. This new alert mode enhances the campus-wide alerts as part of Laurier’s emergency procedures.
Desktop Notification Alert Testing on April 30
SCS will be sending a desktop notification test alert to all Laurier-managed Windows and Mac computers from Laurier’s alert notification system on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. The messaging will indicate that this is a test and no action is required.
Impact to Students
This test will only impact you if you are using a Laurier-managed computer in one of Laurier’s classrooms, labs, or other public areas on campus with a Windows or Mac computer. This test alert will not include other alert modes of email, SMS Text Message, or SAFEHawk app push notification.
