International Education Studies

The International Education Studies (IES) program provides you with knowledge and experience as a pathway to teach in an international school or pursue a broad range of education-related work in international development and other fields.

Our unique program design includes courses from Global Studies and the Faculty of Education to support students' global mindedness and teaching abilities.

Announcements for Fall 2020

  • We are excited to welcome a new cohort of 50 students to the program! Despite the remote learning environment, we are excited to build on the great start to this program that we experienced in 2019/20.
  • We are working with Community Service-Learning and the Faculty of Education to provide suitable placements as part of INED201: Culturally Sustaining Pedagogy, which includes a placement requirement.
  • A new faculty member – Avis Beek – has joined Laurier specifically to teach in this program. Professor Beek has a long and distinguished career as a teacher in international schools.
