For students working towards applying to a professional program (e.g., medicine, dental school, pharmacy, nursing etc.), PS101 and PS102 are recommended electives.
The program recommends that you take the on-campus versions of your HS courses wherever possible (highly recommend HS102 in fall and HS200 in winter).
Consider taking HS103 if you have interest in the course. It can be used toward a future optional Applied Health Sciences requirement.
Consider taking EN241. This is a required course in the program, but can also be taken in second year.
BI110, BI111, CH110, and CH111 require a lab. Remember to add the lecture and lab to properly register.

Consider adding HS201 (OC), HS220 (OC), HS233, HS302 (OC – prerequisite of HS200), HS303 (OC), or HS322 (OC – prerequisite of HS200 and HS201), which are all required courses in this program.
You could also consider optional requirements of your choice such as HS103, HS208 (OC), HS219, HS250, or HS307.
This temporary designation allows you to explore disciplines in the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences and Liberal Arts before declaring a major at the end of your first year:
- Select one to two majors of interest and take the first year required courses of those programs.
- In addition to these courses, we recommend that you take electives of interest, allowing you to easily transition into a major starting in year two.

Course Load
To earn an Honours Degree, you will need to complete 20.0 credits:
- 0.5 credit: Normally conducted over one term
- 1.0 credit: Normally conducted over two terms
If you are studying part-time, you can take up to 1.5 credits per term. Full-time status is given to students who take 2.0 or 2.5 credits per term.
If you select 2.5 credits in the fall term and 2.5 credits in the winter term, you can complete an Honours Degree in four years.
