Study Spaces

Open Study Spaces

All study spaces in Waterloo and Brantford are open.

The ongoing success of open study spaces depends on you. Be a responsible student and remember to:

  • Check the building hours to ensure the space is open and available.
  • Complete your SAFEHawk Self-Assessment daily.
  • Wear a mask that covers the nose and mouth, at all times.
  • Clean your study space table before and after studying with provided materials.
  • Leave the furniture where it is. The furniture is placed purposely for your safety.
  • Remain at your assigned study table for the duration of their study period.
  • Library (Waterloo)
    • Enter through the Library's main entrance.
    • All indoor study spaces (carrels, tables, rooms) are for individual use only.
    • Open study spaces (tables, carrels) are available on first come, first served basis.
    • Small number of individual study rooms are available for 2-hour booking.

  • Alumni Field
    • Outfitted with four large tents (no side panels) and picnic tables across artificial turf.
    • Outdoor gather space – no reservation or check-in required.
    • Structures will remain standing as long as the weather permits.
  • Science Atrium
    • Enter through the North entrance off of the parking lot.
  • Concourse and Computer Lab (Arts 1E105)
    • Enter through the sliding doors facing the Schlegel and Peters buildings that open into the Campus Hub (across from bookstore pick-up window).
  • Turret
    • Follow entry instructions for the Concourse.
    • Tap your OneCard for the doors between Wilf's and the Bookstore. Take the far stairs or elevator to top floor.
  • Student Centre (basement)
    • Enter at the front of the building.
  • One Market (second floor)
    • Enter at the corner of Dalhousie St. and Market St. Use your OneCard to gain access to study space on second floor.

Independent Learning Spaces

Independent learning spaces on the Waterloo and Brantford campuses can be used to attend your remote learning classes, or as an alternate study space. These spaces are intended for individual use only and are not to be used for groupwork.

To ensure your safety and the success of these spaces, make sure you review and adhere to the study spaces guidelines.

SAFEHawk Self-Assessment

Laurier requires all students to have proof of vaccination. You are required to complete the COVID-19 Self-Assessment Questionnaire on Laurier's SAFEHawk app prior to coming on campus.
