Study Spaces

Study spaces in Waterloo and Brantford are available to support your needs and access to Wi-Fi.

  • Library (Waterloo)
    • Enter through the Library's main entrance.
    • You are now allowed to work in groups.
    • Group study rooms can be booked and used by more than one user.
    • Graduate Commons study area and lounge on the third floor is open during building opening hours (access by One Card).
    • Food and drink are allowed in the Library following university guidelines.
    • Small number of individual study rooms are available for booking by ALC registered students.

  • Science Atrium
    • Enter through the North entrance off of the parking lot. 
  • Concourse and Computer Lab (Arts 1E105)
    • Enter through the sliding doors facing the Schlegel and Peters buildings that open into the Campus Hub (across from bookstore pick-up window).
  • Turret (third floor, Fred Nichol's Campus Centre (FNCC))
    • Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (hours may vary if events are held in the space)
    • Follow entry instructions for the Concourse.
    • Tap your OneCard for the doors between Wilf's and the Bookstore. Take the far stairs or elevator to top floor.

    • Note: Not a designated quiet space; however, be courteous to others around you and keep conversation to an indoor voice level.
  • 24 Lounge (second floor, FNCC)
    • Outside Students' Union office.
    • 24 hours (with OneCard access after building hours).
    • Note: Not a designated quiet space; however, be courteous to others around you and keep conversation to an indoor voice level.
  • Student Centre (basement)
    • Enter at the front of the building using your OneCard access.
  • One Market (second floor)
    • Enter at the corner of Dalhousie St. and Market St. using your OneCard access.
  • Commuter Lounge
    • Enter the Carnegie Building using your OneCard access.
  • Digital Learning Commons
    • Enter Grand River Hall using your OneCard access.
  • Hawk's Nest
    • Enter the LBYMCA using your OneCard access.
  • First Floor Study Lounge (first floor, Student Centre)
    • Outside Students' Union office.
    • 24 hours (with OneCard access after building hours).

  • Multi-Purpose Room (basement, Student Centre)
    • 24 hours (with OneCard access after building hours).
    • Note: Not a designated quiet space; however, be courteous to others around you and keep conversation to an indoor voice level.
  • Library (Kitchener) (effective Feb. 10)
    • Enter through the Library's entrance lower level of Lyle S. Hallman Kitchener location building.
    • Access is available during Library open hours, Thursdsay to Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
    • Access by OneCard at other times when Kitchener location building is open.
