Letter Requests for Graduate Students
Graduate students can request third party letters from the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies for the following:
- Verification of enrolment for current or past terms
- Confirm degree requirements are completed and degree has been confirmed (proof of graduation)
- Confirm degree requirements are met, but the degree has not been conferred at convocation
Requests for official letters of program completion will not be accepted until January 15. Letter requests will be completed as they are received and will take 10 – 15 business days to fulfill. Letters will be reviewed and processed in the order they are received.
Letter Request Fees
The fee is $16.25 per letter. Complete the Third Party Letter Request Form and email it to fgps@wlu.ca, bring it to the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies in DAWB 1-102 or mail it to the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, Wilfrid Laurier University, 75 University Ave. W., Waterloo, Ont., N2L 3C5.
All letters are produced using the student’s current academic record. Letters are reflective of registration and academic status at the time of the request.
Be aware that the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies can only attest to existing facts of information, such as your current program of registration, the number of courses you have completed to date, and the degrees you have received from Laurier in the past. Letters can not contain conditional statements such as "If this student successfully completes the current term, then..." or "This student will graduate on..."
