Recruiting and Work Term Dates

For your convenience, we have compiled a listing of recruiting and work term dates to help you navigate your co-op experience at Laurier. Further detailed information can be found in the co-op events calendar on NavigatorNote: Recruiting dates are subject to change.

Spring 2022 (May 2 through August 31, 2022)

Continuous Recruiting Period

  • During the continuous recruiting period, employers may contact you to schedule interviews. Please send details to your co-op coordinator, so we can follow up with the employer about making offers.

Fall 2022 Work Term (September 1 through December 23, 2022)

Personal Job Search

You may conduct a personal job search any time.
  • Before accepting a job you find on your own, please send details of the offer to your co-op coordinator. A coordinator will let you know whether they approve the job for co-op.

Continuous Recruiting Period

We will post jobs for the continuous recruiting period until all co-op students have secured employment for the fall.

During the continuous recruiting period, some employers will contact you to schedule interviews. Please send details of your interviews to your coordinator, so we don't schedule you for other interviews at the same time.

If you receive an offer from an employer, please let your coordinator know so we can notify other employers considering you.

Winter 2023 Work Term (January 2 through April 28, 2023)

Capital Markets/Investment Banking Recruiting Period for Winter 2023

  • Aug. 4: Information session for interested students.
  • Aug. 18 and 19: Jobs posted.
  • Aug. 22 at 12 a.m.: Application deadline for all postings.
  • Aug. 23: Employers will have access to applications.
    • Employers will book interviews and make job offers directly with students.
  • Sept. 9: Employers have until this date to wrap up recruiting.

Primary Recruiting Period

  • Sept. 12: We will begin posting co-op jobs for fall.
  • Sept. 15 by 9 a.m.: Submit your intention form on Navigator.
  • Through to Sept. 23: Jobs continue to be posted.
  • Sept. 27 to 30 and Oct. 3 to 6: Interviews.
  • Oct. 11 (afternoon): View how employers ranked you.
  • Oct. 12 by 9 a.m.: Submit your rankings of employers.
  • Oct. 13: Learn the results of the ranking and matching process.

Note: Employers and co-op students may not communicate between the interview and the time we release results of the match. If an employer contacts you during the primary recruiting period, you must send their message to your co-op coordinator.

Personal Job Search

You may conduct a personal job search any time.
  • Interviews we schedule take precedence over interviews through your personal job search, so please avoid scheduling interviews from Sept. 27 through Oct. 6.
  • Before accepting a job you find on your own, you must send details of the offer to your co-op coordinator so we can decide whether to approve the job for co-op.
  • You may not accept a job offer through your personal job search between the deadline for submitting your intention form and the time we announce the results of the ranking (Sept. 15, 9 a.m.) and matching process (Oct. 13). 

Continuous Recruiting Period

We will begin posting jobs for the continuous recruiting period on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022.

During the continuous recruiting period, some employers will contact you to schedule interviews with you. You must send details to your co-op coordinator, so we can follow up with the employer about making offers.

Spring 2023 (May 1 through August 31, 2023)

CPA Recruiting Period

CPA firms will recruit students to work for four or eight months beginning in the spring or fall.

You may participate if you are a Sequence One or Economics Co-op student seeking your first work term in May or a Sequence Two student seeking your first work term in September. (We allow CPA firms to switch your sequence. Economics students: If you apply to jobs that start in fall or last eight months, please consult with Amy Neufeld about strategies for registration challenges.)

  • Nov. 10: We will begin posting jobs for the early CPA recruiting period
  • Dec. 2: Application deadline for most jobs.
  • Dec. 2 to Jan. 9: Some CPA firms will invite students to attend mandatory pre-interview events.
  • Jan. 9 and 10: Interviews
  • Jan. 11: View how employers ranked you.
  • Jan. 12 by 9 a.m.: Submit your rankings of employers.
  • Jan. 13: Learn the results of the ranking and matching process
